Five-time European champion Christian Merli will be racing at the Int. 57th Hill Climb Race Osnabrück from 1 to 3 August 2025 in his new Nova Proto NP01. It was not easy for the champion from Trentino, Italy, to say goodbye to his tried-and-tested Osella FA 30 in the European championship, but changes in regulations left him no choice. Now he is keen to explore the potential of the new car, which is unmistakable in its white and pink design.
Merli's main rivals for the European crown – first and foremost Frenchman Kevin Petit and Spaniard Joseba Iraola Lanzagorta – are also each driving a Nova Proto NP01 this season, although unlike him they have all opted for a turbocharged engine.
Not least because the strongest cars are now all competing directly against each other in the same group, this year's European Hillclimb Championship is more exciting than ever before. The top positions in the standings have already changed several times, and fans can look forward to a fierce battle for times and points at Uphöfener Berg too.
