Former European rally champion Jochi Kleint will be one of the highlights in the support programme of the Int. 56th Hill Climb Race Osnabrück on 3 and 4 August. He will climb Uphöfener Berg in his iconic twin-engine VW Golf II, in which he nearly won the legendary Pikes Peak hill climb in Colorado/USA in 1987. Another top favourite: Geoffrey Schatz at Uphöfener Berg on 3-4 August

Reigning French hill climb champion Geoffrey Schatz has been shining this year in his splendid Nova NP 01-2 C Honda Turbo, having obtained full points in all European championship rounds so far this year. In the final round of the FIA Int. Hill Climb Cup on the 2030 m long, demanding sprint track of Uphöfener Berg he will be facing the tough competition of five-times European champion and Osnabrück record holder Christian Merli (Osella FA 30). The two top drivers can be expected to fight for hundredths or even thousandths of a second. Geoffrey Schatz is looking forward to racing at Osnabrück, not least because one of his new sponsors, RAVENOL, has its headquarters almost around the corner from the track.
