FIA Int. Hill Climb Cup final at Uphöfener Berg

Following the rounds in Poland, Italy and Slovenia, the Int. 55th Hill Climb Race Osnabrück on 5–6 August will decide the winners in the FIA Int. Hill Climb Cup, the second highest hill climb championship in Europe. This year it is the only German hill climb race in the calendar of the FIA, the International Automobile Federation. In 2022, Frenchman Sébastien Petit (Nova Proto NP 01-2) took the season's win in Category 2 (racing cars) for the third time in a row – an undisputed season's victory with full points. In Category 1 (touring cars), the Czech Dan Michl (Lotus Elise V8) also scored maximum points in 2022 and crowned his season in Osnabrück. In 2023, before the Osnabrück season final, Dan Michl is once again leading in Category 1 and Sébastien Petit (this time with an Osella PA 30) in Category 2.

Pieter Zeelie from South Africa back at Uphöfener Berg

After his successful debut last year, South African driver Pieter Zeelie is returning to Osnabrück with his spectacular 850 hp Toyota MR 2 Super GT, together with his wife and team manager Retha Zeelie and his engineers. A few weeks ago Pieter Zeelie scored an excellent 4th place on his home turf, at the well-known Simola Hill Climb, cheered by a group of motorsport fans from Osnabrück who became friends with Pieter and his team last year. Pieter’s European tour calendar includes a second race this time, Saint-Ursanne – Les Rangiers in Switzerland, which counts towards the European Hill Climb Championship. His first objective, however, is to obtain a good result at Uphöfener Berg, hopefully again in front of a large crowd.

Ronnie Bratschi wants to beat his own touring car record

Ronnie Bratschi from Switzerland rejoins the European circus with his spectacular Mitsubishi EVO Lancer RS after a break of over a year. Despite suffering technical problems in the first two races of the season, in France and in Austria, he is aiming for a top spot in the FIA European Hill Climb Championship. In addition, his calendar includes the FIA Int. Hill Climb Cup final at the Int. 55th ADAC Hill Climb Race Osnabrück on 5-6 August. In 2019 he established the new track record for touring cars, at 0:57.338, and he hopes to challenge his own landmark this year, weather permitting.
